{day 13} in a small city

And, we're back in downtown Charleston today introducing you to a legendary favorite on Capitol Street

The Peanut Shoppe was opened in 1950 and has stayed in its original location for over 60 years!
It is a family run business that has continued to be run by the same family since it was established!
You just don't come across too many businesses like this in our city.
It has become a landmark for just about anyone who has ever visited or lived in Charleston...and rightfully so.

They pop all of their popcorn daily and roast all of their nuts daily for freshness.
They also sell various types of candy.

Our favorites--
E likes chocolate rocks
Momma likes dark chocolate almonds!

Because their nuts are roasted fresh on the premises daily, the shoppe smells amazing!
Actually, the entire street smells heavenly.

Several times I have been on a run and going past the peanut shoppe after they have roasted the nuts is really hard when you're supposed to be running. Going past without going in requires quite a bit of self-control :)

We enjoy stopping in The Peanut Shoppe for a treat on Friday mornings...fun Fridays! The "old fashioned" feel of the store is quite refreshing and seeing the same faces behind the counter reminds me of what it would have been like to live in Mayberry! There is a small town feel to this small city store.

This place would top the list of things to do in Charleston!

Did you know this is {day 13} in a 31 day series?!?
I'm linking up with The Nester and others in the Write31Days challenge!
Go check out the other blogs and check back here tomorrow for another "day in a small city"
