{day 2} in a small city

Looking for a cool, refreshing treat on a hot summer day?
Look no further than Capitol Street, home to Ellen's Homemade Ice Cream!
(photo from wvgazette.com)

Ellen's serves a vast array of treats from (the obvious) ice cream, frozen yogurt, sorbet to coffee and soups making it an ideal place to grab a bite to eat even in the fall and winter months. It is locally owned and operated and has a charming atmosphere.

Totally family-friendly environment complete with a children's sized table and a few little toys to entertain them. The outdoor seating is perfect for a warm summer evening.

While Ellen's is great for families, it also makes a fun date-night spot! Hubs and I stopped in one night after listening to some music on the levee.

Even for our family that has food allergies (dairy) it is great! I got soft serve yogurt and Hubs got the sorbet (that day I think the flavor was raspberry). Both were delicious!

I have not personally tried their coffee or soups, but if they follow suit with the ice cream then they are bound to be delectable!

Did you know this is {day 2} in a 31 day series?!?
I'm linking up with The Nester and others in the Write31Days challenge!
Go check out the other blogs and check back here tomorrow for another "day in a small city"
