{day 4} in a small city

Charleston is home to several great parks and play grounds that our family loves!

The next few days, I will give you a glimpse of each of these parks and why we like them so much!

This first one is more of a play ground than a park. It is located on Elizabeth Street on Charleston's East End. It is in walking distance of our house, so we frequent this playground!

One of my favorite things about this playground (other than its closeness to us) is that it has two separate playgrounds, both of which was gated. One playground is older children and features 4 swings, 2 jungle gyms for climbing (or in G-man's case...hanging), and a tall spiral slide that Little E loves!

The other side of the playground is meant for toddlers and young children. It has two baby swings and two slides (one of which is no more than 2.5ft off the ground). I have really enjoyed this side of the playground. My neighbor and I have walked there many times with our littles and unlike most parks, the littles can play mostly on their own without us mommas worrying over how high they are climbing! Don't get me wrong, we have had a few tumbles and scrapes here, but my mind is much more at ease since the slides and steps are made for younger ones.

Another good thing? This playground is rarely crowded. Most of the people who enjoy this space are ones who live close by, so its a relatively quiet place to take your kiddos to play. Which is another mind-easer for this momma!

I'll share another one of our favorite parks tomorrow!

Did you know this is {day 4} in a 31 day series?!?
I'm linking up with The Nester and others in the Write31Days challenge!
Go check out the other blogs and check back here tomorrow for another "day in a small city"
