{day 5} in a small city

Here's another one of our favorite parks in the area.

Coonskin Park

When I was a little girl, I remember going there for the paddle boats, but now they don't have those any more (which makes me sad). They do have quite a few other fun things though!

We typically just hang out on the play ground and around the pond feeding the ducks, but the park also has a golf course, driving range, horse shoes, tennis courts, hiking trails, skate park, and picnic shelters.

This part of the play ground is meant for children ages 5-12.
There is another section for children younger than that.
I just love when the "park makers" think about us mommas of littles and provide a playground that is age and developmentally appropriate!
There are not swings at this park for big kids though, but there are two baby swings.

We like to walk around the pond.
Sometimes we take old bread and feed the ducks.
This day, we found a turtle!!

It seems like Coonskin hosts other events throughout the year as well.
During soccer season, the Chaos plays home games there.
At Christmas time they have a small festival of lights which is really fun!
The clubhouse by the golf course can be rented out for events.

Its a large and fun place to go explore and its just right outside of Charleston.

Did you know this is {day 5} in a 31 day series?!?
I'm linking up with The Nester and others in the Write31Days challenge!
Go check out the other blogs and check back here tomorrow for another "day in a small city"
